55 Years

And it just seems like yesterday!

"55 Gifts"

Going with a suggestion by Lynette, each of our children and grandchildren gave us an anniversary gift of 55 appropriate something-or-the-other:

A collage of "I love you" phrases written in 55 different languages. Cy
A collage of "55 Funny Faces". Cooper (all his faces - no two alike)
An original pencil art drawing. Jack (drawn with 55,000 strokes of the pencil?)
A box of 55 ball point pens. Hannah
55 Original Bible verse Cryptoquips. Nicole
55 pieces of candy with two bowls to share them in. Faith
55 pennies (one dated for each year 1955-2010) Jordan
Anniversary card cut into 55 puzzle pieces. Gina
Digital key fobs containing 55 family photos. Dawn
Personalized original wall hanging with "55 Things to be thankful for". Joy
55 One dollar bills. Kevin
55 popcorn flavored jellybeans and 55 strawberry notes, and
Eleven $5 bills ($55), each inserted in an Einstein coffee cup holder. Lynette
So now, from Dad & Mom; Grandpa & Grandma:
Thank you, thank you, thank you, thank you, thank you, thank you, thank you, thank you, thank you, thank you, thank you, thank you, thank you, thank you, thank you, thank you, thank you, thank you, thank you, thank you, thank you, thank you, thank you, thank you, thank you, thank you, thank you, thank you, thank you, thank you, thank you, thank you, thank you, thank you, thank you, thank you, thank you, thank you, thank you, thank you, thank you, thank you, thank you, thank you, thank you, thank you, thank you, thank you, thank you, thank you, thank you, thank you, thank you, thank you, thank you!,

The girls in the kitchen

I can tell you from experience, when it comes to meal time prep, these gals can make it happen!

Something cooking in the kitchen?

Backyard Fun

Dale and Joy's backyard provided the arena for several evenings of backyard games. Competition, while in good fun, had a way of turning a bit serious as participants skills improved!

Even after dark they play on...

"Peanut Gallery"

Where their are family games, there you also find the "Peanut gallery" of supporters and encouragers and, unless you're very lucky, an agitator or two!

Dale & Joy's backyard patio was the scene of several delicious meals - looks like these guests are ready for a nap.

Breakfast at Corner Bakery

Corner Bakery is located just down the Parkway from our house. Adelia and I frequently enjoy our Saturday morning breakfast at that restaurant. But this morning was very special - we were joined by our entire family for breakfast on the Corner Bakery outdoor patio, enjoying the great food, amazing Colorado weather, and most of all - each other's company!

Doing it my way...

The difference in age results in major difference of mini-golf form. One thing remained constant - the elder was still the winner!

Heritage Square Alpine Slide

Just a 20 minute drive from our home, Heritage Square is located near Golden, Colorado, on Highway 40 along the base of the Rocky Mountain foothills. Riding speeding sleds down the curved half mile track of the Alpine Slide has long been one of our favorite family activities.

It's a steep uphill walk to the base of the Alpine Slide, but the thrilling ride that awaits makes it worth the effort - for riders of all ages!

Quick - sit down, lower the safety bar and to the top of the mountain!

Finish line in sight; faces beaming!

Family fun

Come on, men, give them back to the girls - please!
